Our ingredients consist of bioactive enzymes and other biotech-derived ingredients, produced in controlled laboratory conditions using microorganisms such as bacteria, yeast and fungi. Rather than relying on extensive extraction from nature or petrochemical feedstocks, biotechnology enables us to develop carefully selected ingredients with high purity, consistency and stability, as well as targeted functionality.

This results in targeted and effective skincare with a gentle profile, particularly suitable for sensitive skin. Before launching, we conduct extensive testing to assess efficacy, safety and skin compatibility, including testing with people with sensitive skin. Slow but precise. All ingredients are 100% biodegradable. The same applies to our packaging. Our bottles and jars are developed using microorganisms through biotechnology and are 100% biodegradable and OK compost HOME-certified. Our paper bags and gift boxes are FSC-certified.

• A-Kolbe rating (Denmark): All Bioli products hold the top “A-kolbe” rating from Denmark’s Consumer Council Tænk, meaning they contain none or only minimal amounts of substances of concern based on strict chemical safety criteria.
  
• Dermatologically tested for sensitive skin: All Bioli products are approved by an accredited laboratory and tested in independent patch studies on volunteers with sensitive or allergy-prone skin. Yes. All Bioli's products carry the Danish AllergyCertified label, one of the world’s strictest allergy safety certifications. Every ingredient is independently assessed by toxicologists and pharmacists for allergens, carcinogens, hormone disruptors, and other potentially harmful substances. Risk assessments cover purity, exposure, and concentration to ensure the lowest possible allergy risk.

All Bioli packaging – jars, bottles and droppers – is made through fermentation using microorganisms and is biodegradable and OK compost HOME-certified.

This means that after use, you can place your empty jar or bottle in your home compost, where it biodegrades without leaving microplastics behind.

If home composting is not available, the packaging can be disposed of as residual waste and sent for incineration. It is made from plant-based carbon rather than fossil-based plastic, so when incinerated, it releases carbon that is already part of the natural carbon cycle rather than fossil carbon. Compared with glass, it also does not require melting at very high temperatures to be recycled.

The packaging is not yet accepted as bio-waste. If it does end up there and in landfill, it will still biodegrade naturally and return to nature’s cycle – unlike conventional plastics, which can remain in the environment for hundreds of years.
