Bioli is expanding its line of skincare essentials with the launch of two new products, the Clarifying Cleanser and Exfoliator, and the Strengthening Serum. Together with the Moisturizing and Protecting Day Cream introduced in 2025, the range forms a complete and simple daily skincare routine designed to support healthy skin.
Founded in 2021, Bioli’s formulations use biotech ingredients that are compatible with sensitive skin to deliver high-quality skincare with a lower environmental impact.
“We are proud to share these new products, developed for refined textures and strong performance. The cleanser and serum follow the concept of our day cream, which has been particularly well received by people with sensitive skin, including eczema, rosacea, and acne-prone skin,” says Nina Wiberg Rosenquist, Founder and CEO of Bioli. “From the beginning, our approach has been to build carefully rather than quickly, to ensure we develop skincare that is both effective and well tolerated while also considering environmental impact. As early movers in both biotech ingredients and biodegradable packaging, Bioli is growing within an emerging ecosystem.”
Foundation built with leading scientific partners
Bioli’s foundation was developed in collaboration with researchers at the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Biosustainability at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU Biosustain). This investigative process assessed the impact of biotech ingredients including enzymes on skin and the environment, against the effects of conventional vitamin C, AHA, BHA acids, and natural ingredients. The findings supported a clear direction: biotech ingredients offer high efficacy while being significantly gentler on sensitive skin and associated with a lower environmental footprint. For example, the production of enzymes can have up to 80% lower CO₂ emissions, 30% lower land use, and 80% lower fossil energy consumption than the production of vitamin C.
Bioli’s approach to formulations is a direct response to these findings, anchored by bioactive enzyme technology and other biotech-derived ingredients. It is equally evident in the company’s broader product design, which is notable for its biodegradable packaging and full product lifecycle responsibility.
Biotech skincare – inside and out
Bioli represents a new approach to skincare – a bioalternative to both synthetic and natural skincare, where plant-based ingredients can vary in composition and, in some cases, cause allergic reactions. Biotech-derived ingredients offer a more targeted approach, delivering high efficacy with fewer potential irritations, making them suitable for all skin types, including the most sensitive.
At the same time, they can be produced with a lower environmental footprint than many conventional alternatives. The same principle applies to the packaging, which is also produced through biotechnology using fermented microorganisms and is 100% biodegradable in home compost, leaving no lasting trace behind.
New Bioli products
The new additions to the Bioli line include:
- Clarifying Cleanser and Exfoliator: A velvety 2-in-1 gel cleanser that gently cleanses and moisturizes based on bioactive enzyme technology and other biotech ingredients. When left on the skin for longer, it also exfoliates. Leaves skin soft and refreshed.
- Strengthening Serum: Silky-smooth serum filled with bioactives to provide protection, soothe, and support the skin barrier based on bioactive enzyme technology and other biotech ingredients. Leaves skin strong and resilient.
Both products are fragrance-free, allergy-certified, dermatologically approved for sensitive skin, suitable for all skin types, and made in Denmark with 100% biodegradable ingredients and packaging.
Bioli is also introducing curated gift sets featuring the full skincare routine:
-
Conscious Gift Set: Includes the cleanser/exfoliator, serum, day cream, and a facial towel, designed as a complete routine for healthy skin, for personal use or gifting. It comes in an FSC-certified cardboard box assembled by individuals in supported employment in Copenhagen under Section 103 of the Social Services Act, combining product quality with social responsibility and a beautiful design.
Retail expansion across Europe
Bioli is now available through its own web shop and in a growing network of retailers across Denmark and Europe, including the National Gallery of Denmark (SMK), Hotel Nimb, Webapoteket, Med24, and international partners such as The Care (France), Chapters (Italy), Ones Concept (Czech Republic).
Nina concludes: ”It’s encouraging to see expansion with premium retailers who value high quality and conscious products – and this with just one product. With several years of development to propel us forward, we are very excited to build on this foundation as the full range launches.”
