Meet Yume
–Founder of THE CARE

1–What's your name, profession, and where do you live?
Yume Hadida, Founder of THE CARE. I live in Aix-en-Provence, in the South of France, after spending over 30 years in Paris. Originally from Japan, where I was born and raised until the age of 15.
2–What does a good workday look like for you?
Yume–I wake up at 7 a.m. to prepare breakfast for my son before dropping him off at school. A quick workout ( even 20 minutes) helps me start the day right, followed by a matcha or hojicha while I read the news and check emails.
I take Lion’s Mane’s drops in my tea from MindStudio to stay focused, then dive into my projects: running The Care, consulting for beauty brands, or curating selections for boutiques and hotels. My schedule changes constantly, sometimes I’m in Paris or traveling elsewhere - so I don’t really have a “typical” day.
Whenever possible, I have lunch with my husband, also an entrepreneur – it became our little ritual.
If I’ve checked off my to-do list, I know the day has been productive. Before finishing, I plan tomorrow’s list, then pick up my son from the school - one of the privileges of our new “slow life” in the South of France.
The way I approach skincare is less about quick fixes,
and more about protecting and fortifying the skin over time”
3–What does your current skincare routine look like?
I try to keep my skincare routine simple, but always with clean, gentle and high-quality products.
In the morning, I simply rinse my face with lukewarm water, then apply a lotion, a peptide/ vitamin C - enriched serum, and a lightweight hydrating fluid nothing too rich, since I have combination skin. I always finish with SPF 50, even in winter or on cloudy days.
When I wear makeup, I mix a glow-serum with subtil shimmer into my foundation to give the effect of not wearing makeup, but with a flawless complexion and a glow that lasts all day.
In the evening, I remove my makeup with either a cleansing oil or ozonated cleansing milk, followed by a gentle, non-irritating foaming cleanser for a proper double cleanse. Then I apply a lotion with gentle PHA, a richer serum that stimulates NAD, and a slightly more nourishing cream to pamper my skin overnight. I currently use the Day Cream from Bioli, that suits perfectly to my atopic-eczema-prone skin. I finish with a retinol/bakuchiol oil to seal everything in.
To complete my evening ritual, I like to do a quick lymphatic massage and a few face yoga exercises. It takes no more than five minutes, but it makes a real difference. I exfoliate once or twice a week with an ultra-gentle non-mechanical exfoliant (no scrabs), to keep my skin smooth and radiant. Once or twice a month, I also do a mild peeling to boost cell renewal, enhance radiance, and improve skin texture.
"When I was very young, I suffered from severe atopic eczema, so much so that I had to be hospitalized"
4–You’ve shared your experience with dermatitis and your interest in Superoxide Dismutase—an ingredient also found in Bioli’s Moisturizing and Protecting Day Cream. How has that discovery impacted your skin and your approach to skincare overall?
When I was very young, I suffered from severe atopic eczema, so much so that I had to be hospitalized.
After many unsuccessful attempts with different doctors, I eventually found a physician in the Japanese countryside who offered a holistic approach: a topical treatment based on traditional medicinal plants boosted with Superoxide Dismutase (SOD), combined with a dietary supplement made from SOD and naturally fermented ingredients. I spent 10 days at his clinic on a retreat, and my skin completely transformed.
It was the first treatment that truly healed my skin without the rebound effects or thinning caused by corticosteroids. That experience showed me the unique power of SOD: not only as a potent antioxidant for atopic, eczema-prone, or dermatitis-prone skin (which I personally experienced again when testing too many different products for The Care, my skin became saturated and reactive), but also as a key anti-aging ally. By protecting against oxidative stress, it helps strengthen the skin barrier, preserve elasticity, and support long-term skin health.
“Since I’ve been using Bioli’s Day Cream, I haven’t had any dermatitis at all—it’s become essential in keeping my skin balanced"
This discovery completely shaped the way I approach skincare: less about quick fixes, and more about protecting and fortifying the skin over time. And since I’ve been using Bioli’s Day Cream, I haven’t had any dermatitis at all ! it’s become essential in keeping my skin balanced and resilient.
5–What does a good day off look like?
For me, a good day off is all about being with my family or close friends, gathered around a beautiful table. I love cooking and hosting the people I care about, it truly recharges me.
If I’m on my own, I’ll treat myself to a full self-care day: a gentle peel or hydrating mask, a long bath, a nourishing hair mask, body scrub, even a manicure… the whole ritual. Then I like to read, watch a good film, and enjoy a comforting traditional Japanese dinner.
And when we have more time, we love escaping to our family home in Sardinia. It’s where we really recharge: going to the beach, strolling through our favorite little villages, enjoying endless aperitivo with friends, and savoring delicious bottarga pasta.
"My mother inspires me... and her Japanese philosophy of ‘ikigai’, focusing on what is truly essential and what genuinely brings happiness”
6–Who or what is inspiring you right now?
My mother inspires me through her resilience, her positivity, and the confidence with which she moves forward no matter what others may say or think. At 76, after many challenges in her life - as a woman, a mother, and now a widow - she remains luminous, distinguished, and full of spirit.
What also inspires me is her Japanese philosophy of 'ikigai', focusing on what is truly essential and what genuinely brings happiness. She often says that once you find that, you are already accomplished - and that perspective guides me every day.
