We believe in enzymes. As small as they are, they can make a significant difference. Bioactive enzyme technology is at the core of Bioli skincare. By cultivating enzymes using microorganisms under controlled laboratory conditions, we can develop highly targeted ingredients that combine efficacy with a gentle profile – particularly suitable for sensitive skin. Our two enzyme technologies serve different purposes: BioProtect, an enzyme-based antioxidant, and BioRefine, an enzyme-based cleanser and exfoliant.

BioProtect is a bioactive enzyme technology, featuring the enzyme Superoxide Dismutase derived from Saccharomyces cerevisiae, along with activity-enhancing ingredients. BioProtect deliver proven, high-level antioxidant protection against environmental stressors, including free radicals, while supporting overall skin health. BioProtect also offers anti-inflammatory benefits to help calm and soothe the skin.

+ BioRefine

BioRefine is a bioactive enzyme technology, featuring two enzymes, protease and lipase, derived from microorganisms, along with activity-enhancing ingredients to deliver effective cleansing with optional gentle exfoliation. Protease removes dead skin cells to improve smoothness, while lipase breaks down excess sebum to purify and refine the skin. With brief use, BioRefine acts as a cleanser, and when left on the skin for longer, it provides a mild exfoliating effect.

Unlike traditional exfoliants such as AHAs and BHAs, which rely on chemical resurfacing that can increase sensitivity, BioRefine works selectively on the skin’s surface for a more controlled and gentle effect. Compared to plant-based alternatives, BioRefine, being biotech-derived, offers greater consistency and efficacy while requiring less water, energy, and land to produce.
